THE ROLE

    The Demand Planner will be key to lead the cross-functional team efforts in accurately forecasting true demand for Canyon Business. This role will be ensuring high quality and accuracy by feeding forecasts on SKU level, bringing external and internal inputs into the forecasting process to serve the customer in the marketplace. The Demand Planner will also be able to develop and maintain long lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Supply Chain, Sales and Category.

YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW

  • Drive an aligned 24 month rolling demand forecasting process together with the cross functional team, focusing on the mid to long term growth opportunities for Canyon.
  • Review historical trends, demand drivers and interpret data developed from statistical models to build unbiased bottom-up forecast on SKU level. Drive data driven decision making within the organization.
  • Regularly update tool to optimise stock levels, reviewing fast and slow turning products and identify countermeasures. Assure the timely communication of ongoing forecast changes to stakeholders.
  • Support S&OP process, in close alignment with Supply Planning.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for demand planning process improvement. Drive and lead a culture of continuous improvement, able to spot automation opportunities and building to scale.
  • Ensure forecast consistency, through the building of a consensus between the Sales Team, Category and Finance.
  • Closely work with the Supply Planning Team by focusing on giving them the right input to deliver the needed levels of inventory to meet Customer Demand.

HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE

    • Educational level: Bachelor degree in Business Administration or similar
    • 3/4+ years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply planning and/or Retail Planning
    • A passion for bikes and a desire to learn about the cycling world and community
    • Self Starter Attitude – able to navigate in ambiguous scenarios and drive proactive communication with stakeholders
    • Excellent knowledge of MS office package and reporting/visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, SAP)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to translate data into meaningful insights and optimise demand process
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Familiarity with forecasting tools (i.e. O9) is desired
