THE ROLE

    As a Lead Digital Category Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the digital presence of one of our categories (Road or MTB) across various touchpoints. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the category proposition is effectively represented, enhancing the emotional connection with the audience. From leveraging digital marketing channels specific to the category to achieving revenue targets, you will drive the success of the digital category as a key step of the wider strategy that is set for the Category by the Global Category Director.

    In detail, we are looking for two lead digital category managers for one of the following product categories:
    • Road
    • MTB

YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW

Category Representation:

  • Obsessively ensure that the category proposition is consistently and effectively communicated across all digital touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Category Director, Category Brand Management, R&D, Category Product Management, Pro Sports Marketing Team, and Senior Management, to align digital content, messaging, and design with the category's values and identity.

Revenue Targets Achievement:
  • Collaborate closely with the Sales and Category teams to establish precise monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue targets for the digital category. Ensure that there is a cohesive understanding within the digital team and the relevant stakeholders regarding these targets.
  • Design and coordinate the execution of digital strategies in collaboration with relevant teams to surpass revenue goals, encompassing promotions, partnerships, and customer acquisition tactics, ensuring timely and agreed-upon implementation.

Customer Journey Enhancement:
  • Analyze and optimize in collaboration with the relevant teams the customer journey across digital platforms to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Design and coordinate the execution of personalized and targeted strategies to deepen the emotional connection between the category and its audience.

Digital Marketing Channels (Category-Specific):
  • Lead the design and execution of a comprehensive digital marketing strategy in collaboration with the Brand Management, the Category Management and other stakeholders to drive category awareness, engagement, and conversion specific to the digital category.
  • Collaborate closely with the Digital Marketing Channels, providing strategic category direction and guidelines, while entrusting them to manage social media, email marketing, SEO, and paid advertising channels from a technical and channel-specific strategy perspective.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Utilize analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track the success of digital initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of business and marketing category performance, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of key digital marketing metrics and KPIs, and providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Connect with the Category Director, reporting on and offering insights into how the digital strategy aligns with and enables the broader category strategy set by the Category Director. Propose recommendations for continuous improvement that contribute to achieving overarching category goals.

Stakeholder Management:
  • Navigate different stakeholders' needs, including Category Management, Category Brand Management, R&D, Category Product Management, Pro Sports Marketing Team, and Senior Management.
  • Project manage and collaborate within the Digital Team, including Digital Marketing Channels (Paid Media, Email, CRM, SEO), Category E-commerce Merchandising, Web Team, E-commerce Project Management, Digital Experience Design (UX, UI, Visual Design), Digital Product Management, Gear, and Service, among others.

Market Research and Competitor Analysis:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market changes, and competitor activities.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify opportunities and challenges in the digital category.

HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE

    • Proven experience in digital marketing, e-commerce, or category management
    • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using digital analytics tools

    • Creative thinking and a passion for staying updated with digital trends
    • Results-driven with a focus on meeting and exceeding targets
