THE ROLE

    As our Chemical Compliance Manager you will be responsible to build up, maintain and develop our restricted substance list (RSL) and a corresponding database. You will make sure that we meet compliance and legal requirements and improve chemical transparency. By this you will play a key role in reduction of environmental impacts.

YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW

  • Develop strategic concepts for chemical management for products, processes and supply chain of Canyon
  • Contribute to develop and improve restricted substances lists (RSL) for hard- and soft goods as well as related testing matrix
  • Building and administration of a strong database that enables us to monitor and document compliance against the RSL at any time
  • Continuous development of Canyon’s approach towards chemical management by conducting research and monitor changes in global regulations of existing and future markets (like for example REACH, RoHS, Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act)
  • Following cross-industry best practice
  • Defining KPIs for chemical management, development and implementation of reporting tools
  • Assessment of suppliers und materials used in products and at production facilities
  • Strong collaboration with our ESG and operations team
  • Providing training to the organization as well as communication to supply chain partners

HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE

    • Degree in Chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science, or a comparable field of studies
    • 3+ years of relevant experience
    • Excellent knowledge in developing and improving a holistic chemical management process from end-to-end
    • Strong knowledge in chemicals & chemical management, product compliance and production processes
    • Very good knowledge of regulations and awareness of legal changes
    • Experience with developing and tracking research and development projects
    • Good capabilities in collecting, analyzing and reporting data
    • Strong communication skills to present information and recommendations to the organization as well as ability to work cross culturally and across different departments
    • Passion for sustainability
    • Ability to drive process changes
    • Data awareness, detail oriented and ability to work independently and x-functionally
    • Very good English skills
