THE ROLE

    As our SENIOR IoT EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER (M/F/D), you unite your passion for embedded software programming with excitement for IoT. You will be the enabler of a new generation of Connected products that can impact and enhance our customers’ lifestyle.
    Reporting to the Canyon IoT Hardware Lead, you will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the firmware and embedded software for the on-board electronics of Canyon bikes, which comprise IoT gateways, sensors, actuators, HMIs, and smart accessories.
    To this end, you will work in strict coordination with the IoT Hardware Development team and in collaboration with the Cloud Backend and Mobile App teams.
    You can define and implement architectural and methodology best practices for the Canyon Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Process to be applied to the embedded software suite, with a strong emphasis on portability, re-use, modularity, abstraction.
    You are a team player with a “can do” attitude, self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.

YOUR JOB AS PART OF THE CANYON CREW

  • Design, develop, test, debug and maintain the complete embedded software platform for the connected e-bike electronics
  • Work in strict coordination with the Hardware Development team to ensure an integrated design approach between hardware and software
  • Work in strict coordination with the Cloud Backend and Mobile App teams to ensure consistent and synergetic software platforms practices
  • Organize the SDLC activities in the context of the Agile and of the Product Development Process methodologies
  • Propose concepts for new features and investigate patentable ideas
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to implement automated software validation workflows
  • Develop automated testing scripts to be applied to automation testing rigs and setups
  • Design and specify the software factory test procedures at the assembly lines

HOW YOU BECOME PART OF THE RACE

    • BS/MS in Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science with related experience of 3+ years in firmware development
    • Advanced knowledge of C/C++ programming applied to MCU-based Embedded systems
    • Strong discipline in writing Unit Tests
    • Experience of programming with RTOS’s. Experience with FreeRTOS is a plus
    • Experience in programming on MCUs of the ARM Cortex families
    • Deep knowledge of version control best practices (git, GitHub)
    • Applied experience of CI/CD best practices
    • Experience in the configuration of automated CI pipelines with a leading commercial or open-source tool (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
    • Fluent in English
